About GES

  A multidisciplinary group of technical and pedagogical researchers.

  Ten Years of experience deploying online learning in Galileo University.

  Collaborative International Research: in past & current projects with MIT (USA), Harvard (USA),  Telefonica I+D (Spain), UNED (Spain), University of Cauca (Colombia),  Tecnológico de Monterrey (México), Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), Universidad de Chile (Chile), Trinity College Dublin (Irlanda), Universidad Estadual de Campiñas (Brasil), University of Reading (Reino Unido) e Institut national des Telecommunications (France), and others.

  Experience in sub-project leadership of technology integration, in European and Latin American joint projects.

  Over 10 years of experience in Technology Enhanced Learning projects, national and international awards for research and innovation.

  Track on relevant European projects results for this call: iClass, iCampus, ELEKTRA, APOSDLE, GRAPPLE, ROLE, others.

  High speed connectivity to Geant & Internet2 through Red CLARA.

  Partners of dotLRN (LMS) Consortium, with international leadership in Open Source learning technologies and communities.

  The experience of working with a goverment entities supporting online learning programs, providing technical frameworks and methodological developments of virtual courses, training, design, creating animated and interactive elements, content assembly, etc. With target participation of over 100,000 users.

  For five years we have been working with over 10,000 K12 students across the country for a lifelong learning program, in information society areas.

 

Challenges

  Does the instructional design will be reframed under these new environments?

  If now education does not scale for personalized and more interactive learning environments, how will we address scalability on more complex scenarios where new players come to the scenario?

  What kind of collaboration and creativity is needed (from teachers and students) in these new scenarios?

  It is clear that what is edge today on technology and services integration will be mainstream in 5 years.  Are we prepared to exploit it in Global Educational Contexts and gain advantage of it?
